Insulation Cash Incentives From Energy Trust of Oregon

When you get insulation installed, whether it’s new or retrofit, you may be eligible for a cash incentive from Energy Trust of Oregon. They offer cash incentives for insulating your home.

Here’s how the insulation incentive is broken down:

  • Attic/ceiling: $0.25 per square foot
  • Floor: $0.30 per square foot
  • Wall: $0.30 per square foot
  • Knee wall: $0.30 per square foot

For example, for a typical 1,200-square-foot house, incentive paid for ceiling insulation would be $300, and $360 for floor insulation, if all requirements are met. Even more cash back is available for insulating rim joists, walls, knee walls, ducts and boiler pipes.

How Do I Know if I’m Eligible?

Those eligible for this insulation cash incentive are Oregon customers heating their homes with electricity or natural gas from Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, NW Natural or Cascade Natural Gas. NW Natural customers in Washington who heat their homes with natural gas can receive our incentives.

Oregon homeowners who heat with oil, propane, kerosene, butane or wood can conduct their own energy audit and apply for cash rebates for installed weatherization upgrades through the Oregon Department of Energy’s SHOW (State Home Oil Weatherization) program.

Energy Trust does not pay incentives for energy-efficient improvements that are required for building code compliance, such as remodeling, renovation or new home additions.

Incentives are not intended to influence consumer decisions on fuel sources.
